Finally WHO Declares Coronavirus A Global Pandemic

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has today declared coronavirus a global pandemic. This was necessitated by the fast spread of the disease on a global scale, threatening humanity. Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the WHO Director-General made the declaration at a press conference today, at the Organisation headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. In his statement which partly reads, “In the past two weeks, the number of cases outside China has increased thirteen-fold and the number of affected countries has tripled”,

Coronavirus: ICIR Says Nigeria Not Ready

The International Centre for Investigative Reporting, ICIR, carried out an investigation following the announcement of the nation's Health Minister Dr Osagie Emmanuel Ehanire, a few weeks ago that Nigeria is prepared to handle Coronavirus (Covid19). ICIR, however, claimed that after paying a visit to a few major hospitals in the nation's capital city of Abuja, it was not so sure the declaration by Ehanire was accurate.

COVID-19: 1st Case Confirmed in Nigeria

The Federal Ministry of Health (FMoH) has confirmed a coronavirus (COVID-19) case in Lagos State, Nigeria. This was confirmed yesterday and is reported to be the first case in Nigeria since the beginning of the outbreak in China in January 2020. According to a statement, the health minister, Dr.Osagie Enahire says the case was as a result of an Italian citizen who was returning to Lagos, Nigeria, his work location from Milan, Italy.

Coronavirus: Vaccine Could Be Ready In 18 Months

The Director-General of the World Health Organisation (WHO), Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has on Tuesday said a vaccine targeting the coronavirus could be available in 18 months.
