The Health Maintenance Organisation (HMO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has officially received accreditation to provide medical services to all Nigerians by the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).

While receiving the certificate of accreditation at the NHIS Headquarters in Abuja, Mr. Musa Ribadu, Managing Director, NNPC HMO said the corporation is committed to offering valuable services to its prospective beneficiaries.

“We are confident that our entry into the market will increase the national coverage statistics by at least one to two digits.

“We have better knowledge of the oil and gas sector that can attract active participation within this sector for the scheme,” Ribadu said.

The accreditation which grants NNPC the power to establish a full functional HMO will be used to pilot the plan by the corporation to establish medical services across Nigeria.

This development is in a bid to diversify the revenue base of the corporation.
