The Members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) including the 43 Ministers in President Muhammadu Buhari's cabinet have agreed to take a pay-cut with a view to supporting the administration's effort against the Coronavirus pandemic.

This disclosure was made available in a statement issued in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Saturday by the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.


Mohammed stated that the pay-cut which will involve 50% of their March salaries will be coordinated by the Minister of State for Transport, Sen. Gbemisola Saraki. He quoted Saraki by saying that the donation was a gesture of solidarity and support for the federal government's effort to tackle the deadly disease.


"This global virus outbreak will require nations, continents and smaller communities to pull together to contribute their resources to support one another. and this will facilitate early resolution of the problem".


Lai Mohammed further informed that the Ministers commend President Buhari for his leadership role in addressing the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.
