Ten Nigerians Awaiting Evacuation From UK Test Positive For COVID-19

Nigerians who indicated interest to return from Foreign countries back to Nigeria have been subjected to the mandatory COVID-19 test, a list of stranded Nigerians was compiled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

No fewer than 10 of the returnees in the UK has tested positive for COVID-19, it was gathered that some of the returnees that tested positive were not UK resident, but were in the country for studies and business purposes.


The result which was released on 13th April 2020 has sparked panic among the staff of the High Commission in London and other Nigerians who were hinted about the development since the infected persons were asymptomatic and the strong chance of others been infected hence there were no symptoms of the virus.

The infected persons have commenced treatment in isolation centres as disclosed by the spokesman for Nigerians in the Diaspora Commission, Abdul-Rahman Balogun.
