Coronavirus: Kano State Record First Death

The Kano State Government has confirmed the death of a coronavirus patient in the state.

 

As tweeted on the official page of the state Ministry of Health @KNSMOH, it reads;

“Wednesday, 15th April 2020. As at 11:55 pm, 1 death of #COVID19 has been recorded in @KanostateNg.

”Although, the detail of the diseased is yet to be disclosed, the state Ministry of Health said that the state has recorded an additional 12 confirmed cases of the COVID-19 as at Wednesday, April 2020.

As it were, the Kano state has so far recorded 16 confirmed cases of the coronavirus as at 11:20 pm, April 15, according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

DailyTrust reported that a 51years-old medical Doctor, who contracted the COVID-19 while treating a suspected case of the coronavirus at a private hospital in the state, has died on Wednesday.

The said doctor passed on at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), making it the index case of death of a health worker of the COVID-19 in Nigeria.

President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the COVID-19 Presidential Task Force to ensure they avert any possible community transmission of the coronavirus.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha who doubled as the Chairman committee of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 disclosed this during an interview with the state House correspondence through video conference on Wednesday.

The SGF urged Nigerians to exercise more patience as the government is working hard to contain the virus and ensure Nigerian safety.
