The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has revealed additional 339 new confirmed cases of the coronavirus were recorded on Thursday pushing the toll beyond 7000 persons. The agency said Lagos state recorded 139 of the deadly infections while Kano and Oyo state recorded 28 persons each.

Other states that recorded the newly infected persons are; 25 Edo; 22 Katsina; 18 Kaduna; 14 Jigawa; 13 Yobe; 13 Plateau; 11 FCT; 8 Gombe; 5 Ogun; 4 Bauchi; 4 Nasarawa; 3 Delta; 2 Ondo; 1 Rivers and 1 Adamawa.


The Nigerian total of persons confirmed with the coronavirus now stands at 7,016.


Meanwhile, some peoples who were believed to have recovered from the coronavirus were also discharged from hospital and isolation centres raising the number of discharged persons to 1,907 and the death toll stood at 211.
