A team of Health experts representing the World Health Organisation, WHO was on a fact-finding mission to unravel the origin of coronavirus meet with stiff resistance as they were denied entry into Beijing, China for its assignment.

WHO boss, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus revealed he was “Very disappointed” with the last minutes' denial by the Chinese authority into its country, in a rare castigation of Beijing from the UN body.

He said a ten-man expert team was pencilled to visit China this week after months of painstaking negotiations.

However, Beijing is determined to deny the world the mystery behind the origin of the virus which has consumed nearly 2million people across the globe so far and is still killing.

The index case of the pandemic was recorded in the central Chinese city of Wuhan in November 2019 which eventually throw the world off-balance in the normal health protocols triggering chaos, severity, and fear, but the Chinese authority in a secretive way has continued to deny telling the world what exactly happened.

Until today, the United States President, Donald Trump has continued to call the pandemic the “Chinese Virus”.

Accordingly, the WHO is a global health agency was set to probe through an independent team into the early days of the outbreak. Instead, Beijing has seeded doubt as to whether the pandemic started from inside its borders.

WHO was curious that it wanted to decipher the mystery as to how an animal virus turned out to be killing humans on the quantum scale as is presently happening?

However, the WHO boss said the team who were already on transit to Beijing are yet to be granted entry.

In his statement, “Today, we learned that Chinese officials have not yet finalized the necessary permissions for the team’s arrivals in China,” Tedros told reporters on Tuesday.

“I am very disappointed with this news, given that two members had already begun their journeys and others were not able to travel at the last minute.”

Ghebreyesus reiterated that unraveling the origin of the virus was critical to WHO, but he is still pestering on the Chinese authorities to see the reason to allow the health expert to do its work.

“I have been assured that China is speeding up the internal procedure for the earliest possible deployment,” Tedros added.

Meanwhile, WHO emergencies director Michael Ryan told Tuesday’s briefing that the problem was a lack of visa clearances.

“We trust and we hope that this is just a (logistical) and bureaucratic issue that can be resolved very quickly.”
