60 Nigerians Fleeing Ukraine Test Positive For COVID-19

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NSCDC) has reported that 60 out of 1,229 Nigerians evacuated from Ukraine tested positive for COVID-19. The 60 were among the 62 cases announced for the FCT Abuja by the NCDC on Wednesday.
“A backlog of 62 cases reported for FCT from 8th (3) and 9th (59) March 2022.”

Chairperson of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) Abike Dabiri-Erewa, while speaking during the arrival of another batch of 123 Ukraine-based Nigerians in Abuja, revealed that they will be given free SMS by MTN, pre-loaded with N5,000 credit.

Meanwhile, the country on Thursday recorded 33 COVID-19 cases. Lagos had the highest number with 23, followed by Rivers with 6, Imo recorded 2, FCT 1 and kaduna 1.

Data from the health agency showed that 19 persons were discharged after they recovered from the deadly disease.
For the 20th day in a row, no death was recorded.
