The World Health Organization (WHO) has launched a mobile application, “WHO COVID-19 Updates” which offers “trusted info from both the experts at the WHO and regional partners, with regular updates and notifications as scientific findings progress." According to the health body, the app will enlighten users on both mild and serious symptoms of COVID-19, and also educate them on how to protect themselves, as well as avoiding myths, and misinformation. The app which was initially released in April 2020 but was removed from public space, is currently only available on Google Play Store in Nigeria. However, the older version is similar to the latest stable version.

The app comes with real-time notification from the locations of users in a bid to give them regular updates from WHO and its partners.

Meanwhile, WHO is working to have the app available in other regions but if you want to download it and you are not in Nigeria, you can sideload the app on either Android or iOS devices.
