Independence Day: FG Dolls Out Programme To Celebrate Anniversary Celebration

In preparations to mark Nigerian independence at 62, the federal government has disclosed itineraries of programs to mark the activities for the celebration of the Nigerian independence anniversary in style on the 1st of October day. The Minister of information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed stated this while addressing pressmen in Abuja on the activities to commemorate the Nigerian independence which is slated to commence on September 25th. The Minister said, there will be a church service on Sunday, 25th September, at the National Christian Centre, Central Business District, Abuja by 3:00 pm.


This will follow up by a Public Lecture focusing on National unity on Thursday, 29th, September 2022 at the State House Conference Hall, at 10 am, Mr. Mohammed added. 

He continued, “On Friday, September 30th, 2022, there will be a Special Juma’at Prayers at the National Mosque, Central Business District, here in Abuja 

“On Saturday, Oct. 1st, 2022, there will be a Presidential Broadcast at 7 am. Later on the same day, there will be a Military Parade at the Eagle Square, Central Business District, Abuja, starting at 10 am”. 

Subsequently, the Minister said awards of National Honours would be held as part of the 62nd anniversary on October, 11 at the nation’s capital. 

Lai Mohammed disclosed that why the federal Government has decided to celebrate the anniversary in style is to thank God that despite the numerous challenges faced by the federal government, we have come out strong and Nigeria has remained indivisibly united. 

He reassured Nigerians that the Buhari administration will continue to positively engage Nigerians in all facets of development especially, “promote unity, security, and stability of the country”.
