The Nigeria Customs Service, Sokoto state Command said it has intercepted a truck load of 525 bags of smuggled rice believed to be in the region of about N11m. The Customs Area Comptroller in charge of Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara, Mr. Mr. Nasir Ahmed made this known while briefing newsmen yesterday in Sokoto.
Customs Intercepts 589 Bags Of Rice Concealed In Petrol Tanker
The Nigeria Customs Service has arrested four suspects in Sokoto who allegedly smuggled 589 bags of imported rice concealed in a petrol tanker.
The Comptroller of NCS in Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara Command, Mr. Nasir Ahmad, disclosed this to newsmen on Tuesday in Sokoto.
Ahmad said the smuggled items, which were intercepted on Sunday along Koko-Yauri road in Kebbi State, had N11.1m Duty Paid Value.

The Directorate of state security said it has arrested all members of the dreaded ‘BASALUBE’ kidnap gang operating in Kogi- Lokoja and Abuja – Kaduna highways. The Nigerian secret police made this known in a statement released and signed by its spokesman Tony Opuiy said the Service embarked on a series of joint operations across the country. One of those arrested is Lawal MOHAMMED, a suspected financier and armourer of the Basbule kidnap gang operating in Kogi State.
Son Of Hon. Dolapo Badru, Abraham Badru, Shot Dead In London
Abraham Badru, the 26-year-old son of Hon. Dolapo Badru, a member of the Nigerian House of Representatives, representing Lagos Island, was shot dead in London on Sunday night around 11 p.m., the Daily Mail (UK) reports.
The younger Badru is said to be only the tenth person to be murdered in 12 days in the U.K. capital.
Badru was shot dead “near his family’s home in Hackney,” the Mail reports.

The Nigerian Army has reacted to widespread claim by one Sergeant David Bako that the recent abduction and eventual release of the Dapchi schoolgirls was hatched on April 19th, 2018 at the State House. Recall that Bako had alleged that the abduction was stage-managed and executed with N80 million.
