It would be recalled that Mavrodi died on March 26, after a heart attack.
Police Arrest Suspected Human Trafficker, Rescue 23 Victims In Benue
The Benue State Police Command, on Wednesday said it has rescued 23 victims of suspected human trafficking while they were being conveyed from Buruku Local Government Area of the state to an unknown destination. State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, disclosed this when he paraded one Prince Masenenger Tar as the suspected trafficker who was conveying the 23 people out of the state in an 18-seater bus belonging to the Benue State Transport Company known as Benue Links.
UN Condemns Maiduguri Sunday Night Attack
The UN on Monday condemned the Sunday night attack by Boko Haram insurgents at some communities in Jere Local Government Area of Borno State.
The UN Deputy Humanitarian Coordinator in Nigeria, Mr. Yassine Gaba, in a statement in Maiduguri strongly condemned the attack on civilians which resulted to the death of 34 persons.
“The UN strongly condemns the deadly combined attack which took place near Belle Village in the outskirts of Maiduguri on Sunday April 1. According to local sources, at least 34 civilians lost their lives and 90 others injured in the attack.
Gunmen Attack Kogi Police Station, Kill Two Officers
Some gunmen on Tuesday invaded the police station at Gegu village on Lokoja–Abuja road, killing two of the policemen on duty.
William Aya, spokesman of the Kogi state police command, confirmed this to TheCable.
“It is true that there was an attack today. We lost two officers,” he said.
Police Confirm Release Of Kidnapped Chief Imam
Alhaji Mode Senchi, kidnapped Chief Imam of Senchi in Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi state, has been released.
The Police Command in Kebbi State confirmed the release of the Imam who was kidnapped on March 18.
The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Kabiru, made the confirmation while addressing journalists in Birnin Kebbi on Sunday.
