Abuja High Court on Wednesday 13th February, 2019 has granted bail to the former SGF and two other in the sum of 50m each with surety with next trial fixed for 18th of March, 2019.
On Tuesday, the court ordered that Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir David Lawal, and three others be remanded in Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) custody pending when the court will rule their bail application on Wednesday.
The former SGF is being prosecuted for alleged fraud committed in relation to contracts awarded by the Presidential Initiative for the North-East (PINE) for grass cutting at some selected Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps.
