According to the Army spokesman, Colonel Sagir Musa, gallant troops of 115 Taskforce battalion deployed at Lassa in Borno State received a distress call about 7: 20pm yesterday from vigilantes at Maikadari village on movement of suspected Boko Haram Terrorists along Maikadari-Shuwari enroute Michika.

He stated that, the troops swooped into action and ambushed the terrorists leading to exchange of fire. Consequently, they attempted to fly but were intercepted and suppressed with heavy volume of fire.


Musa noted that, with the reinforcement from 143 Battalion Gulak, the troops engaged the terrorists on Two Front Coordinated Attacks thereby neutralizing many of them while others fled.


He stated that the area has since been dominated by troops and the situation brought under control, though the BHTs hastily evacuated most of their corpses under the cover of darkness.


Items captured from the terrorists include; One Ford vehicle, two Toyota Starlet vehicles loaded with foodstuffs, one motorcycle and one tyre inflating machine.
