The ruling of a Lagos High court sitting in Ikeja over a no-case submission filed by Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, aka Evans and his co-defendants, would be decided today. The pronouncement of Justice Hakeem Oshodi, a presiding judge over the case would determine whether the case would continue or not.

His accomplices, Ogechi Uchechukwu, Chilaka Ifeanyi, Okwuchukwu Nwachukwu, and Victor Aduba want the charges against them dismissed. Only the second defendant, Uche Amadi, did not file a no-case submission.

Team of the defense counsels – Roger Adewole, Olanrewaju Ajanaku, M. C. Izokwu, and Emmanuel Ochai – are challenging the court to dismiss the case. However, the Lagos state government through its Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Moyosore Onigbanjo, opined otherwise.

During the last sitting, Oshodi ordered an Office of Public Defender counsel, E. E. Okonkwo, to take over Evans’ defense. The decision was taken when it becomes clear that the kingpin was broke and can no longer afford a Lawyer.
