Kidnapped Nursing Mother And Wife Of Former Zamfara Councillor Regains Freedom

Kidnapped wife of Babangida Damba a former Councillor in Zamfara state who was abducted few days ago together with her eight months old baby by suspected bandits have regained her freedom. According to information reaching Vigil360, the victims abducted in Damba Community in Gusau, Zamfara State early hours of Wednesday were released Friday evening following payment of four million Naira as ransom. They spent over forty-eight hours in captivity. It could be recalled that gunmen suspected to be bandits numbering about four invaded the residence of the former councillor of Tudun Wada ward in Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara State with sophisticated weapons around 12. 20 am on Wednesday.

According to the victim’s husband who sustained gunshot injuries during the attack, entered into his house around 12.20 am and started shooting. They tried to gain entry into the parlour but did not succeed. They then asked him to open the door and he refused.

He disclosed that they fired shots at both the doors and the windows in an effort to gain entry into his parlour, adding that a stray bullet hit him in the arm.

Damba added that when they failed to break into his parlour, they moved to another room where his wife and his son were staying, kidnapped them and left without taking anything.
