Former Vice president Atiku Abubakar has reacted to the controversial story surrounding the demise of a teenager, Sylvanus Oromoni who was allegedly assaulted at Dowen College that lead to his death. Sylvester died from internal injuries he sustained after some alleged cult members from the said school assaulted him.
However, the school principal, Mrs Debisi Layiwola, in a statement denied any form of bullying or physical attack on the personality of the student.
The denial was greeted with outrage by Nigerians on social media demanding that the culprits be fished out by the school to face justice.
Consequently, the Lagos State Government has with immediate effect directed that the school be shut down indefinitely until an investigation into the incident is concluded.
Meanwhile, reacting on Twitter, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, borrowed his voice urging the authorities concern to bring perpetrators to justice.
Atiku wrote, “We shall be failing in our duties as parents/guardians, administrators, security agencies and government if we do not get to the bottom of the case of late Sylvester Oromoni.
“ It is beholden upon us to enthrone a safe environment in our schools.#Justiceforsylvester”
