The Adamawa State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has announced the rescue of one Mumina Hamidu, a 19-year-old lady who escaped from Boko Haram insurgents in Sambisa Forest.
Mumina was reportedly rescued with her eight-month-old baby on Thursday.
Briefing newsmen on the development on Friday in Yola, State Commandant of NSCDC, Mr Aliyu Ndanusa, disclosed that the lady was abducted in Mubi town by the insurgents during its occupation by the group in 2014.
Ndanusa stated that the lady escaped from Sambisa to Cameroon, where she was picked up by men of the corps while returning to Mubi.
The commandant revealed that the lady and her baby would be handed over to the relevant authorities for proper rehabilitation.
