HND/BSc Dichotomy: NAPS Urges Tinubu to Assent Bill

The National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to assent to the Bill for an Act to Abolish and Prohibit Dichotomy and Discrimination between Bachelor Degree (B.Sc) and Higher National Diploma (HND).

NYSC Scheme: President Tinubu Directs Inclusion of NOUN Graduates

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the Federal Ministry of Education to include graduates of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme, which was made known during the 13th Convocation of NOUN by the Deputy Executive Secretary, National Universities Commission (NUC), Biodun Saliu.

Withheld Salaries: FG Considers Half Payment For SSANU, NASU

The Minister of Education, Tahir Mamman during an interview on Wednesday on Channels Television’s programme, Politics Today stated that members of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) could get half of their withheld salaries, pending approval from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Low Enrollment: NECO Postpones 2024 Entrance Examinations

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has postponed the 2024 entrance examinations into Federal Unity Colleges and the Federal Government Academy, Suleja, Niger State as a result of low enrollment which was made known in a statement issued by the Spokesperson of the Council, Azeez Sani which stated that the common entrance which was earlier scheduled for April 20, 2024, would now take place on June 1, 2024.

Student Loan: Hope As Tinubu Finally Sign Bill Into law

After long back and forth over the student loan between the executive and the legislature, President Bola Tinubu has finally signed the Bill into law on yesterday Wednesday 3rd April, 2023 in Abuja. Accordingly, the students’ loan is part of the president Tinubu campaign promise for the Nigerian student and it is part of the implementation to have Access to Higher Education Act, 2023. The Act, popularly known as the Students Loan Bill seeks to provide loans for indigent Nigerian students to pay fees in Nigerian tertiary institutions.
