JAMB Halts Use Of Email For UTME, Direct Entry Registration

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board has announced that it will no longer require the use of email for the processing of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) registrations. Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, JAMB Registrar made the announcement while addressing newsmen on Wednesday in Abuja, saying the development will take effect from Thursday, April 15, 2021. He added that email addresses will only be requested at the successful completion of the registration by candidates to access their profile as well as information on the examination during or after the UTME exercise.

WAEC To Conduct 2021 WASSCE Exams In August

The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has announced that the 2021 May/June West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), will take place between August 16 and September 30. WAEC spoken Demianus Ojijeogu, in a statement, said the exams earlier scheduled for May/June, will now hold between August and September 30. He added that the international timetable for the conduct of the examination would be released in due course.

Education: NUC Approves License For 20 New Private Universities

The National University Commission (NUC) has today issued provisional licenses to 20 newly approved private universities in Nigeria. The Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu while presenting the license to the beneficiaries at the NUC headquarters in Abuja said, with this approval, the number of private universities in Nigeria is now 99 out of the total 197 available.
