Lagos State Government Seals 10 Schools For Violating COVID-19 Restriction

The Lagos State Government has sealed 10 private schools that violated the directive of the federal and state governments Order for schools to be closed owing to the COVID-19 global pandemic.

The sealing of the 10 private schools was disclosed by the Director-General, Office of Education Quality Assurance, Lagos State, MrsAbiolaSeriki-Ayeni during the second and third phases of monitoring of private schools’ compliance with the directive.

She stated that many private schools visited during the exercise complied with the directive while the non-compliant schools have been sealed.

The DG noted that the exercise will be sustained in oder to discourage the nonchalant attitude of some schools that may want to violate the directive.

According to her, “No doubt, COVID-19 has had negative effects on our schools but we want students to come out stronger and better.

We want to make sure schools are closed, we also want to make sure schools are adhering to the closure directive since the number of COVID-19 cases has increased dramatically over time.”
