The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) disclosed that more than 1.16 million candidates have registered for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). The examination body also insisted that it would not extend the February 14th registration deadline.
This disclosure was made by the JAMB Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede during an inspection tour of some CBT Centres in Abuja where he also warned centres to desist from extorting candidates.
He also urged candidates to promptly report any case of extortion, adding that a reward is attached to reporting such incidents.
JAMB commenced registration for the 2023 UTME on January 14, 2023, and set a registration deadline of February 14, 2023, while the conduct of the 2023 UTME was scheduled for April 29, 2023, to end May 12, 2023.
