Counter Terrorism Centre: President Tinubu Appoints Laka As Coordinator

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Major General Adamu Laka as the Coordinator of the National Counter-Terrorism Centre which is under the supervision of the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA). This was disclosed in a statement on Tuesday by Ajuri Ngelale, the Presidential Spokesperson, which also stated that he served in various capacities in the North-East of the country during which he “deployed tactical means to degrade terrorist groups.”

Nigerian Army to Free Over 200 Repentant Boko Haram Detainees

The Nigerian Army is set to release more than 200 detainees absolved of having links to the Boko Haram sect. The military arrested the repentant detainees at various raids in the heat of insurgency. It was gathered that they would be handed over to the Borno State Government for proper reintegration into society. According to the report, the event will occur on Tuesday morning at Giwa Barracks in Maiduguri, the state capital. ”No fewer than 200 cleared Boko Haram suspects who are being cleared of any wrongdoing by security operatives, and they will be handed over to the Borno State Government for rehabilitation and reintegration.“The handing over ceremony is set to be this morning (Tuesday) at 10 am at Giwa Barracks,” the report said.

Gumi Has Questions To Answer-FG

The Federal Government (FG) says the Kaduna-based Islamic cleric, Ahmad Gumi has questions to answer over some of his comments regarding the activities of bandits, adding that he has been invited by security agencies. This was disclosed by the Minister of Information, Mohammad Idris, to State House correspondents after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Monday.

Two Notorious Boko Haram Commanders Surrenders In Lake Chad Region

The Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) has disclosed that in the ongoing operation in the Lake Chad region, Borno state, two high-ranking Boko Haram commanders have surrendered to the MNJTF after a heated fight. The spokesperson for the MNJTF, Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, , made this known in a statement today Tuesday 26th March, 2024. Accordingly, the two terrorists commander, identified as Ibrahim Muhammed and Auwal Muhammed, popularly known as WANKA, belonged to the Bakura Buduma faction who his group were responsible for carrying out some major deadly attacks in various locations around Lake Chad. 

Kaduna Abduction: Kuriga Student/Pupil Rescued From kidnappers Den – Military

Following the matching order by President Bola Tinubu to rescue the abducted Kaduna school children, the Defence headquarters has today disclosed it has rescued the students of Kuriga village, Chikun Local Government Area, kaduna in Zamfara State. The Director of Defence Media Operations, Edward Buba, made this known today that 137 hostages were rescued from the bandits.
