Delta Incident: Murderers Of 16 Soldiers Might Be Mercenaries - Akpabio

The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, on Tuesday, said the killers of about 16 military personnel in Delta State may be mercenaries and not Nigerians. Some armed men had on Thursday, March 14, attacked and killed 16 personnel of the Nigerian Army during a peace mission to Okuama Community in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta. Addressing a debate on two merged motions by Senator Abdulaziz Yar'Adua, APC, Katsina Central, and Edeh Dafinone, APC, Delta Central, Akpabio opined that those who killed the soldiers may be mercenaries.

IPOB: Nnamdi Kanu Again Denied Transfer To Kuje Correctional Centre

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has again denied the application to relocate the detained Biafra agitator, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu from the custody of the Department State Services, DSS, to Kuje prison in Abuja. The presiding Justice Binta Nyako, is denying the Biafra agitator for the second time the application yesterday on the ground that the DSS custody has remained the most secured place for the detained IPOB self appointed leader. 

Killers Of Our Military Personnel Must Be Brought To Justice – Tinubu Orders CDS

President Bola Tinubu has directed that the killers of 16 military personnel in Okuama Community, Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State, must be brought to justice. This was released in a statement signed by the president yesterday describing the killing as “unprovoked” expressed “profound grief over the needless death of our gallant soldiers.” This followed the incident where 16 military personnel on duty were attacked and killed at one Okuama community, Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta state last week. 

Military Debunked Reprisal Attack At Okuama Community In Delta

The military high command has slammed reports that troops went on a reprisal attack in Okuama community after they suffered the loss of 16 soldiers butchered by the community touts in Okuama community Delta State. Vigil360 has yesterday reported how the Nigerian Army while on a peace mission to Okuama community met their untimely death which included an army commander, two majors, one captain and 12 soldiers all lost their lives in the village savagely.

Following the killing of troops of the Nigerian Army including a commanding officer, two majors, one captain, and 12 soldiers who were deployed on a peace mission to Okuoma community in Bomadi LGA by some youths of the community, the Chief of Defence Staff, General CG Musa has ordered the immediate investigation and arrest of all those involved. The incident occurred when the personnel responded to a distress call during a clash between Okuama and Okoloba communities in Delta State on Thursday. Confirming the deaths, the Director, Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau said on Saturday, “The troops of 181 Amphibious Battalion, Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta State, while on a peace mission to Okuoma community in Bomadi LGA of Delta State were surrounded by some community youths and killed on Thursday, March 14, 2024.
