Pantami: US Is More Concern With Terror Action Than Mere Words – Envoy

A former United States Ambassador to Nigeria, John Campbell has dismissed the allegation that the embattled Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami is on the US watch list. The former US envoy said freedom of speech and thought is an integral part of the American system, and cannot crucify Pantami or deny him Visa for mere words that were spoken some decades ago.

INEC: Polling Unit Expansion To Address Low Voter Turnout

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has on Thursday said that it is expanding polling units to address low voter turnouts during elections, giving voters additional access to polling units. Dr. Mahmuda Isah, Resident Electoral Commissioner in Jigawa State made this known during the meeting on expanding voter access to polling units in Dutse, the state capital, adding that the expansion will improve health safety conditions in line with the COVID-19 protocol during the 2023 general elections.

Pantami: DSS Disowns Its Former Directors Comment

The Department of States Services (DSS), has today slammed the comment attributed to its Ex-Assistant Director, Dennis Amachree, on how the Minister of Communication, Isa Pantami scaled the screening of the DSS prior to his confirmation in 2019.
The DSS spokesperson, Peter Afunaya in a statement sent to a journalist said that what Amachree said was his personal opinion and not that of the DSS as an agency.

IGP: Senior Police Officers Attached to EFCC To Be Withdrawn

The Acting Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba has ordered for the withdrawal of senior police officers from the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police and above deployed to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). In a letter addressed to the EFCC Chairman and dated April 15th, 2021 stated that the affected officers should report for further directives not later than 10 am on April 21st, 2021.
