President Paul Kagame of Rwanda while presenting his lectures during the anti-corruption summit organized by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari is the African Union champion in the fight against corruption. The leader made the claims at the National Democracy Day Anti-Corruption summit organized by the Economic and Financial (EFCC) in Abuja on Tuesday, June 11th, 2019.
President Kagame also congratulated President Buhari on his victory in the 2019 general elections, saying Nigeria must share resources equitably so that the fight against corruption could be enjoyed by everyone.
He said: “President Buhari, I wish to give you our very warm congratulations on your re-election and best wishes for the entire Nigerian people, on the road ahead.
“I also want to mention here, that President Buhari is AU (African Union) champion in the fight against corruption, and we thank you.
” According to Kagame, corruption must be fought from top to bottom, using four key principles: “culture, responsibility, accountability and effectiveness”.
Also in attendance at the summit were the Former governors of Lagos and Osun states, Rauf Aregbesola and Bola Tinubu, Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo state.
Earlier today, the Vice President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo received the Vice Premier of the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Mr Ryong Nam at the State House.
His visit may not be unconnected to the Country's Democracy day celebration scheduled to hold on Wednesday, 12th June 2019, at the nation's capital, Abuja.
