The Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has urged the state governors from the Northeast and their Northwest counterpart to emulate the Kaduna state government in talking insecurity through the deployment of technology.
The Minister made the call in Abuja on Wednesday through the Director of press and public relation of the Ministry, Mohammed Manga.
The Minister revealed that, the Kaduna state governments’ model was designed to complement the effort of the Federal Government and security agencies in fighting all forms of crimes in the zones.
According to the Minister, the Kaduna state governor, Mallam Nasiru El-rufa’i met him in Abuja informing him that commission of crime have gone beyond what we use to know in Nigeria and world over, and therefore, the security has to also step up their game in combating same.
El-Rufa’i suggested that with the deployment of Technology, the menace of banditry,kidnapping, cattle rustling and other social vices bedevilling the country will be talked head-on within the shortest possible time if such technology are deployed.
Aregbesola noted that effective security was key to meaningful and social interaction, stressing internal security is the backbone of vibrant economy in any nation.
The minister commended Mr. El-Rufa’i for seeking collaboration with the federal government in the fight against the security in the state.
Earlier, El-Rufa’i said that he was in the ministry to seek for further collaboration in tackling the spate of insecurity in the state.
He commended that the Federal Government for restoring security along the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway through the deployment of security personnel. (NAN)
