The Federal government directed via the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan on Monday 10th August 2020 civil servants on Grade Level 12 and 13 including other essential duties to resume duties on a full scale. The directive was contained in a circular dated August 10, 2020, signed by Dr Folasade, Titled "Resumption of officers on Grade Levels 12 and 13 and those on essential duties".
The Head of Service stated that staff would commence work from Monday to Friday from 8 am to 4 pm with effect from August 10, 2020. However, in doing so, consideration must be given to the health implication of the number to recall for duties in the light of the extant guidelines on the preventive measure to help in curtailing the spread of the novel coronavirus.
More so, the Permanent Secretaries/Chief Executive Officers are to define the officers performing essential services in their Ministries Departments and Agencies. Also, Folasade cautioned against violation of safety protocols, and also counselled on the use of duty rosters where numbers of staff resuming work is large.
