Insecurity: Politicians Responsible For Most of Our Problem – Akpabio

The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio, has disclosed that the current wave of insecurity sweeping the country has a political undertone in all ramifications.

Akpabio stated this in Abuja yesterday while speaking to newsmen at the All progressive Congress (APC) National Secretariat.

In his statement, “I think most of the problems are politically motivated.

“So, we must use our binoculars to be able to look and identify the sponsors of the insecurity we’re witnessing in the country.

The Minister lamented that “What’s happening now is not Nigeria; this is un-Nigeria.

“We must do everything possible, even through advice, to make sure that Nigeria remains united,” Akpabio said, adding that it wasn’t time for a blame game.

The minister expressed worry that the security situation in the country is snowballing into a different dimension that is alien to the country as it is threatening almost every part of the country.

Akpabio said he was shocked that “We’ve never in the history of this nation witnessed where people in uniform are targeted for elimination.

He said what is currently happening in Nigeria is a clear pointer that we have infiltrators in our midst, saying and that is why the security of our neighboring country has become sacrosanct to our survival as a country.
