Senator representing Borno south at the National Assembly, Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume has slammed the report by some section of the media that “Boko Haram raided police mobile Training school at Gwoza and abducted some policemen.
Ndume, who is the Chairman Senate Committee on Army, and somebody who hails from the said Local Government, Gwoza, in Borno state described the news as ‘fake’, an act of mischief-makers. There was a report alleging that dozens of Police officers were abducted from a Police Mobile training School after the terrorist Boko Haram raided the school located at Limankara Village, a suburb located 20km away from Gwoza town.
The Senator said, “It is not true that some police officers were kidnapped in Limankara, In fact, there are no policemen in Limankara, we only have military troops/battalion in Limankara who are up and doing, and there is no attack of such nature. I will describe the reports as untrue and baseless.
“I have been receiving daily updates on the efforts troops are doing to safeguard Limankara and other communities in Gwoza, and I am much impressed.
Ndume added, “The troops in Limankara are not only stationed in one place, but we also have them at the deserted Police Mobile Training School, some hills around those axes with sophisticated surveillance cameras and equipment to spot terrorist movement.
He explained being the Chairman Senate Committee on Army, he has the privilege of receiving a daily security report all over the country, therefore, he can categorically said, Limankara and its environs as of today were calm and peaceful.
Battalion stationed strategically have been crushing the fleeing terrorists crossing from Sambisa forest to Mandara Mountains of Cameroun on daily bases, the senator revealed.
