A group of Christian youth under the ages of Northern Christian Youth professionals has called on the Nigerian President, Bola Ahmed Tinibu to sermon courage and recruit 185,000 youth as Forest Guards to fight head-on with the dreaded terrorist that has continued unabated., The group urged mr president to take the decision immediately before he stays for the next six months in office.
The appeal was triggered by the resurfacing of the terrorists four days ago when the popular Voice of America program aired that the Cameroonian forces are calling on Nigerian and Chadian governments to deploy more troops to its common border with their country following the pogrom the terrorist unleashes on them through the killing of 12 persons including 6 soldiers on Tuesday.
Also at the Northern border of the Central African Republic with Nigeria, its military and government officials have disclosed that the decision was taken after a fresh wave of attacks from the insurgents were recorded recently.
Although the immediately passed administration of President Buhari of Nigeria has continued to claim that Boko haram has been decimated to a minimum level and is unable to attack communities, their recent pogrom suggests otherwise as communities at the borders are constantly in a state of fear.
Consequently, the group of youth under the banner of Northern Christian youth Professionals have expressed outrage demanding that this onslaught must be faced squarely to a finish.
The president of the group, Isaac Abrak has called on the president on behalf of the group has called on the president to mobilize youth as experience has shown that troops alone cannot finish this fight.
He therefore called on the government to consider recruiting 185,000 youth which according to him will give a good number of forces that can confront the terrorists to complement the effort of the military.
His statement partly reads, “We would like to highlight your promise to revitalize the forest guards, an initiative that holds immense significance in securing our forests from the threats of Boko Haram, bandits, and other violent groups. We recognize the magnitude of this task and the impact it can have on national security, the revitalized forest guards can recruit and employ one hundred and eighty-five thousand young Nigerians within the first six months in fulfillment of one million jobs promised from the digital economy.
“Drawing from your experience as governor of Lagos State, where you successfully utilized mass youth employment through the establishment of the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency and your Vice President, Kashim Shettima’s instrumental role in establishing the Civilian Joint Task Force as governor in Borno, we have great confidence in your ability to make this ambitious plan a reality within the first six months of your administration.
Abrak congratulated President Tinibu for his inauguration as the 16th president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, where he prayed for the lord's guidance for the president in the discharge of his statutory duties as the Nigerian leader.
