Following speculations that the President may extend his visit for medical reasons as cited by the main opposition party, People Democratic Party (PDP), President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday 6th May 2019 arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja after a visit to the United Kingdom.

Briefing newsmen shortly after the President touched the ground at 6:24 pm, Senior Special Assistant to the President on media, Femi Adesina, said the President’s return has deflated the claims that he was on a medical trip to the UK.

Adesina further stressed that in their vain imaginations, they even stated that fictive doctors have advised President Buhari to stay longer for more intensive care.

“Now that the President has returned, can these apostles of evil imaginings swallow their words?

Can they retract their tendentious stories as well as press statements, and apologize to millions of Nigerians both at home and in the Diaspora that they have fed with hogwash?

The presidential spokesman also by affirmed the commitment of the Buhari-led Administration to respect and uphold press freedom, but the onus lies on those prone to passing off fiction as facts, to remember that freedom demands concomitant responsibility.

More so, the President congratulates Muslims in Nigeria as they joined their counterparts around the world today, the 6th of May, 2019 in commencing fasting (Ramadan). Ramadan is the ninth month as per the Islamic calendar popularly referred to as Hijri.

The President stressed the need for prayer and spiritual commitment amongst the faithful towards prosperous Nigeria.
