The first Batch of 2019 Hajj Pilgrimage with a total of 1,529 Muslim pilgrims was on Saturday airlifted from Kaduna, Kano and Lagos States to Saudi Arabia.
This was made known by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) through their twitter handle.
According to NAHCON, Kaduna airlifted 542 pilgrims, with 348 males and 194 females through Kaduna Airport with Medview airline to Madinah.
While, Kano airlifted 555 pilgrims with 315 males and 240 females through Kano airport via MaxAir to Jeddah, and Lagos airlifted 432 pilgrims with Flynas airline to Madinah.
Earlier, an advance team of NAHCON officials led by the acting Secretary had arrived Madinah and Jeddah in efforts to receive the intending pilgrims and adequately cater to them with the provision of transportation, accommodations, security, feeding, beddings, enlightenment and general monitoring.
