President Muhammadu Buhari has forwarded to the Senate for screening and subsequent confirmation, his Special Assistant on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie as a National Commissioner for the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC).
Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, reads a letter containing the names at the plenary on Tuesday 13th October 2020.
Those for confirmation are Prof. Muhammad Sani from Katsina State, Lauretta Onochie from Delta State, Kunle Cornelius Ajayi from Ekiti State, and Seidu Ahmad from Jigawa State.
The President's request for confirmation of the nominees will be referred to the appropriate committees to handle on 14th October 2020.
