President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday afternoon, travelled to his home town Daura, Katsina State after the weekly juma`at service at the Presidential Villa, Abuja to participate in the All Progressives Congress Ward Congress. The President had returned to Abuja Thursday night after what his spokesman, Malam Garba Shehu described as `technical stopover` in London after his meeting with the American President, Donald Trump on Monday.

A Federal High Court sitting in Enugu on Thursday said the hearing on the substantive suit filed by a chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Anike Nwoga, seeking to stop the National Assembly from changing the sequence of the 2019 elections, earlier adopted and published by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) would be heard on Tuesday, May 8.

Contrary to widespread speculations that President Muhammadu Buhari who left the United States on Tuesday after an eventful meeting with the United States President, Donald Trump and foreign investors, may have flown to the United Kingdom for medical reason, the Presidency said the stopover was merely technical.

The Kogi State Chief Judge, Justice Nasir Ajanah, on Friday granted an interim order for the Senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye to be transferred to the National Hospital Abuja, while hearing for his bail conditions will be heard next week Monday. Justice Ajanah gave the order at the High Court in Lokoja when Counsel to Melaye, Mike Ozekhome (SAN) filed processes for motion seeking the bail of the Senator who is standing trial for conspiracy and gun running among other charges brought against him.

The Nigeria Police on Wednesday re-arrested the senator representing Kogi West in the Senate, Dino Melaye on Wednesday after a Magistrate Court sitting in Abuja granted him bail. Recall that the embattled senator was arraigned before the court in Wuse Zone 2 after spending few days at the National Hospital's Trauma Centre where he is receiving medical attention.
