Following the recent posthumous award of the highest honour in the land, GCFR to the presumed winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential election, MKO Abiola and the declaration of June 12 as the nation's democracy day, the presidential candidate of Kowa party in the 2015 general elections, Prof. Remi Sonaiya has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to arrest the perpetrators of the injustice done to Nigeria and Abiola.

According to Dailypost, Sonaiya made the call on her social media handle, @oluremisonaiya. The opposition leader said by recognizing Abiola, the government has now admitted that an injustice was done and has taken steps to address it. She however wondered what would be the fate of the perpetrators of the unjust act.

Her tweet reads

“This posthumous honour done to #MKOAbiola means that the Nigerian Govt at the highest level now acknowledges that there was a travesty of justice over #June12.

“Now that the victim is finally getting “justice”, what happens to the perpetrators of the injustice?”

Recall that the 1993 presidential election, which was adjudged the freest and fairest election by local and international observers, was annulled by the then military head of state, Ibrahim Babangida.
