President Muhammadu Buhari is currently meeting behind closed doors with the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, at the Presidential Villa. According to Dailytrust, the meeting which started around 5pm, comes hours to the IGP retirement from the police. Idris will clock 60 years tomorrow, having already put in 35 years in service.

The report hinted that there have been intense lobby and machinations in the presidency for the extension of the service of IGP Idris.


Born on 15 January,1959 in Niger state, Idris was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force in 1984, after graduating from the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria where he studied Agriculture.
