The National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has insisted that the party cannot go down the same lane as in 2015 on National Assembly leadership tussle.

Oshiomhole made this statement on Tuesday in a Banquet hall of the state House in Abuja during a dinner organized in honor of House of Representative Members-elect.

The National Chairman in his statement said "In life, mistakes are permitted but it becomes a problem if the mistake is repeated twice. "We are determined not to repeat the mistakes of 2015 in 2019, we have learnt our lesson,”.

He insisted that all ‘strategic committee’ in the two chambers of the NASS must be championed by members of his party, saying that "We do not need to do business with the devil for us to survive in the ninth assembly.”

Oshiomhole said: "Out of 223 APC elected members, about 67 were re-elected, the rest are new members."

According to Oshiomhole, in some part of the World, you don’t go into coalition when you are already the majority; you only tore that line when you don’t have the number. However, APC has the number, out of the 306, Nigerians elected 223 APC members to give president Buhari National Assembly members that he will enjoy a relationship with so that the 2015 scenario does not repeat itself.

Oshiomhole added, most of the members who decamped were rejected by Nigerians and even those who championed the cause were uprooted. We cannot as a party with a comfortable majority, entrust some key positions with the opposition or PDP.

”If Nigerians wanted them, they could have voted them. In the days of PDP, every committee was chaired by PDP members.

He, therefore, reiterated that the APC would never share what belonged to it with the opposition.
