Contrary to reports that President Muhammadu Buhari would dissolve his cabinet on Wednesday (today) during the valedictory Federal Executive Council meeting held at the Presidential Villa, the Ministers have been directed to remain in the various positions until May 28, a day before the president's second inauguration.

The President's directive was disclosed on the verified Twitter handle of the Presidency, @NGRPresident. The tweet directed the Ministers to hand over their schedules to the Permanent Secretaries in their Ministries.

The tweet read

“I expect all the Ministers to continue working until Tuesday, May 28 when they will hand over their schedules to their Permanent Secretaries.” — President @MBuhari

Prior to the directive, Vigil360 gathered that most of the Ministers had handed over to their various Permanent Secretaries before going to the Villa to attend the FEC Meeting.

The Ministers had, before the meeting evacuated their personal belongings from their offices, even though some of them intensified lobbying to ensure their reappointment.
