Kingsley Chinda, the preferred candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the position of the Minority Leader in the House of Representative has defied all odds to occupy the seat of the Minority leader in the House.
Mr. Chinda was overruled by the speaker of the House on Wednesday when he attempted to raise a point of order as the Speaker was about to read a letter purportedly from the PDP faction that ended the plenary in a rowdy manner.
Despite raising a point of order on many attempts, the plenary have refused to recognize Mr. Chinda as the Minority Leader.
Consequently, the Speaker, Gbajabiamila against the decision of some PDP caucus named Ndidi Elumelu, as the House Minority Leader.
The Speaker throws his weight behind the noticed he received that Mr. Elumelu was elected by 90 opposition Lawmakers.
The action of the Speaker was opposed by many PDP Lawmakers that ended the plenary in a rowdy session yesterday.
The opposition party had, in a letter, announced Mr. Chinda as its leader in the House.
The party also nominated Chukwuka Onyema as Deputy Minority Leader, Yakubu Barde as Minority Whip and Muraina Ajibola as Deputy Minority Whip.
