Confusion has on Thursday set in the APC, as two High Courts of equal jurisdiction within the space of 24hours issued contradicting orders concerning the embattled National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Adams OShiomhole.

Justice A. Lewis of the Federal High Court sitting in Kano had on Thursday declared the suspension the Oshiomhole by a similar High court sitting in Abuja null and void, ordering INEC to only recognise Oshiomhole as the valid APC National Chairman.

Justice Danlami Senchi of the Federal High Court sitting in Jabi, Abuja had on Tuesday suspended the APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole from being the party chairman pending the determination of his case before it.

Justice Lewis Allagoa’s order just came in 24hrs after Justice Senchi D. gave his ruling, suspending the APC National Chairman in Abuja.

Justice Senchi hinged his suspension order on a premise that Adams Oshiomhole has on November 2, 2019, being suspended by his ward 10, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo state from the party.

However, Justice Lewis- Allagoa posited that November 2, 2019, purported suspension of the ward 10, Etsako West Local Government Area, Edo state removing Oshiomhole was a hoax.

He revealed, that the judge, who ordered that the status quo ante Bellum should be maintained, directed all parties to the suit before him on the subject, not to give any effect whatsoever to the “purported resolution” suspending Oshiomhole as a member of the APC.

He reiterated that “the interim order, directing the APC; the INEC; the Inspector-General of Police; and the Director General, State Security Service “either by themselves, servants, privies, assigns or any other officer, howsoever described and by whatever name called, from giving effect to the purported resolution of Ward 10, Etsako West Local Government Area of 2nd November 2019 suspending the 2nd defendant (Oshiomhole) as a member of the 1st defendant (APC) pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice.”

The ex parte application leading to Justice Lewis-Allagoa’s orders was filed by one Aliyu Muhammad Rabiu.

The judge adjourned till April 8 to hear the motion on notice filed by Rabiu.
