Following the release of the newly revised timetable and schedule of activities, the All Progressive Congress (APC) has on Thursday announced October 16 as the new date for its nationwide state congresses to elect state party officials.
The National Secretary of the APC Caretaker and Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), Sen. John Akpanudoedehe made the announcement in a statement in Abuja, saying the approval and release of the revised timetable were in line with the party's constitution, adding that purchase of forms for the State congresses commenced on Wednesday, September 15 and is scheduled to end on Monday, October 11, while screening of aspirants will hold on October 13 and 14.
He said “On the cost of nomination forms, aspirants for the position of State Chairman will purchase forms at the cost of N100,000.
Deputy State Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer aspirants will pay N50,000.
“Aspirants for the position of Senatorial Chairmen are to purchase forms at N50,000; Senatorial Youth Leader N30,000 and other offices N30,000.
“Female and physically challenged aspirants are to pay 50 per cent of the prescribed fees for each position,” the APC scribe said.
Sen. Akpanudoedehe also noted that appeals arising from the congresses will hold between October 23 and 30 while Zamfara and Anambra States would be exempted from the APC nationwide State congresses.
