Biafra: South-East Governors Meet Nnamdi Kanu, Commit To Amicable Resolution Of IPOB Demands

The South-East Governors Forum led by its chairman, the Governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi, on Wednesday met behind closed doors with the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu at the Government House in Enugu.

In a communiqué read out by governor Umahi after the meeting, the Forum agreed “immediately engage the leader of IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu and the entire leadership of IPOB to further meetings and dialogue with a view to quickening the resolution of all issues amicably.”

The Ebonyi State Governor made a request for “all concerned to give the South East governors the opportunity to amicably sort all these problems.”

The meeting was attended by Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Nkem Okeke, Kanu’s father, Eze Israel Okwu Kanu as well as Prof. Ben Nwabueze (SAN) and Evang. Elliot Uko, President of Igbo Youth Movement (IYM).

Governors Rochas Okorocha and Dr Okezie Ikpeazu of Imo and Abia states were absent at the meeting.
