President Mohammadu Buhari is set to carry out a two-day working visit to Kano State, according to reports. The President during the two-day visit is expected to commission some projects completed by the Governor, Umar Ganduje-led administration, inspect and lay foundation for some new ones.
The President will commence the official visit on Wednesday, December 6 and end it by Thursday, December 7. The State Governor Dr. Umar Ganduje has urged the people of the State to “come out in large numbers to welcome the number one citizen”. The Governor said the citizens should see the visit as a blessing and patronage to the State as such he should be received warmly and peacefully by everybody.
He stated that the two-day presidential visit will impact on Kano and its inhabitants positively. He said on arrival, the Projects the President is expected to be commission includes: ’Panshekara Road, Madobi Junction Underpass, state of the art 250 bed capacity GIGINYU Specialist hospital, 250 bed capacity pediatrics hospital at Zoo road, 25 – 30 metrics tones production capacity new fertilizer blending plant KASCO and 2.1 kilometer CBN Quarter/Maiduguri road/Zaria road project.”
The facilities to be inspected include: “2,0002 bedroom affordable housing units along Kwanar Guryiga, Kofar Ruwa Interchange and ultramodern Integrated skills Acquisition center along Gurigya Zaria road as well as Foundation laying stone for the Kanawa Economic City”.
The Nigeria police in statement urged inhabitants of Kano to be law abiding as they welcome the president but warned that the law enforcement agency will not hesitate to deal with anybody who tries to foment trouble during the visit.
The Emir of Kano, Muhamadu Sanusi II has call co the people of Kano to cheerfully welcome the president and disregard any attempt or inducement to cause trouble during the visit.
With billboards erected with various messages welcoming the president alongside the APC party flag and the national flag, the ancient city of Kano is indeed agog and ready for the August visit.
