There was tension in Jabi area of the Federal Capital Territory on Thursday as officers of the Nigeria Police stormed the Headquarters of Peace Corps of Nigeria and prevented the Commandant of the Corps, Dickson Akoh and his men from accessing the office. Akoh who was accompanied to the office by some Civil Society Organizations and Youth Groups said he was at the office following a court order as well as a recent directive by the House of Representatives ordering the Police to unseal and vacate the premises.

He however said since the armed Policemen prevented them from the office, they shall return back without any confrontation.

According to him “we have come in peace. We are peace loving people. If the Police refuse to open the office, we shall go back, we won’t be confrontational with them."
