Atom Maiyashi, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna state on Tuesday said the six months suspension of Governor Nasir El-Rufai still stands despite the demolition of Senator Hunkuyi's House along Sambo Road by the Governor. Maiyashi stated this on Tuesday during a brief interview with newsmen at the scene of the demolition in Kaduna.

He said the Governor's decision to demolish the Senator's house was a demonstration of immaturity, stressing that the situation shows that the Governor cannot withstand political pressure within his party.

“This is madness, embarrassing and this has shown that the governor has failed the people of Kaduna State. Despite all this madness, his suspension stands.

I am disappointed with what I am seeing today. This is my saddest day as a politician. Since my career as a Civil Servant and as a politician, I have never seen this kind of political witch hunting,” he added.

Vigil360 had earlier reported that some government officials arrived at the demolished structure around 4:00 a.m on Tuesday with some uniformed policemen and bulldozers. The structure was demolished before they vacated the premises.
