As 2023 is fast approaching, Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi state has made his interest known where he has formerly revealed he is interested to contest for the number one seat on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) come 2023. This is just coming as the leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinibu in a similar fashion informed president Buhari of his ambition to vie for the presidential seat yesterday. Umahi revealed that president Buhari has advised him to consult widely, saying he is not worried by the personality of Tinibu as he has thrown his hat into the ring.

Governor Umahi cross-carpeted into the ruling party (APC) from the main opposition, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the year 2021, on the premise that the main opposition has made it clear that they are not zoning their presidential ticket to the southeast.

The Ebonyi-born politician revealed he would replicate what Nigerians have seen in Ebonyi state at the national level when given the chance come 2023, saying he is optimistic the ruling party will make their ticket open.

The Governor disclosed that he believed he got all that it takes to lead the Nigerian state in terms of good governance.

Hinting his strategy on the insecurity that has engulfed the nation, he revealed he supports a political solution, especially that of the southeast as it has negatively impacted the economy of that zone.
