The Appeal Court on Friday 17th November 2023, upheld the decision of the state election petition tribunal which in a unanimous judgment declared Nasiru Gawuna of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner Kano State governorship election.
Appellate Court Dismisses Suit Against Mbah’s Victory
The Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos has upheld the victory of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate Peter Mbah as the Governor of Enugu State in the March 18 election. The Appellate Court, in a unanimous decision, dismissed the appeal filed by the Labour Party governorship candidate, Chijioke Edeoga, as lacking in merit and further upheld the judgment of the Enugu Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal delivered in September.

Suspended Adamawa REC Hudu Ari Fails To Appear In Court
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has alleged that suspended Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Adamawa State, Hudu Yunusa-Ari, and his surety are on the run, having evaded arrest. INEC through its counsel, Rotimi Jacobs, SAN, told Adamawa High Court, at the resumption of hearing yesterday informed the court that the embattled REC was evading arraignment in court.
