I Won’t Do Anything To Upstage Senate Leadership – Senator Adamu

The embattled senator representing Nasarawa West, Abdullahi Adamu, has denied allegations that he is plotting to remove the president of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, who he said is “like a son to me.”

On Thursday, Obinna Ogba, a senator representing Ebonyi central, laid before the Senate what he called “evidence” of Adamu’s plot to oust Saraki.

Sack Agric, Information Ministers For Lying – HURIWA

A group, Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA), in a statement on Thursday, asked President Muhammadu Buhari to sack the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Audu Ogbeh and The Minister of Information and culture Lai Mohammed for lying to the public, Premium Times reports.

The statement was signed by the group’s National Coordinator, Emmanuel Onwubiko and National Media Affairs Director, Zainab Yusuf.

Nigeria’s Defence Headquarters has responded to a comment by the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu on the Nigerian Military, while contributing to a debate on a motion sponsored by Senator Ahmed Ogembe, representing Kogi Central. Ekweremadu had stated that “The problem in Nigeria is that our democracy is receding. Who says army cannot take over, let us not joke with our democracy that is the issue”.

The National leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu who has been mandated to reconcile all aggrieved and feuding members of the party appears to be aggrieved following the recent decision by the National Executive Committee of the party to extend the tenure of the National Chairman of the party, Chief John Oyegun by additional one year.

We Will End Cycle Of Violence – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday in Jos, assured Plateau State residents of his administration’s determination to arrest “the vicious cycle of violence” across the country.

Buhari arrived the state for a two-day official visit.

Similarly, the Senate President, Mr Bukola Saraki tweeted: “Happy Birthday to our Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo. I pray that the Almighty continues to give you good health, great wisdom and abundant grace. Amen!”
