The House of Representatives Committee on Public Petitions on Tuesday issued an arrest warrant against the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mr. Ibrahim Magu, for refusing to appear before it.

Justice John Tsoho of the Federal High Court in Abuja has withdrawn from the trial of eight Boko Haram suspects standing trial before his court. The judge announced his withdrawal at the resumed trial of the suspects on Tuesday at the court in the Federal Capital Territory.

The Independent National Electoral Corruption has said it is not discouraged by the legal obstacles in the process to recall Dino Melaye, Senator representing Kogi West. The Chairman of the Commission, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, made this known at the quarterly consultative meeting with journalist in Abuja on Tuesday.

The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, SERAP, has appealed to the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Water Onnoghen, to urgently revisit and review the composition of the Corruption and Financial Crime Cases Trial Monitoring Committee (COTRIMCO) headed by Justice Ayo Salami.
